Fort Collins Yoga Co-op! – A network of Yogi student-teachers who host classes at various locations in town. All of them are donation based, however if you become a regular attendee it’s good to donate $5 or work out some form of trade. Their calendar can be found here.
The Bike Co-op – A Non-Profit organization which was started as the Bike Against Collective in a garage in 2003. They have 4 open shop days a week, $10/hr to work with a mechanic and learn how to fix your bike. They also have lots of good used cheap parts, the cheapest new tubes in town ($3) and volunteer nights where you can work on their projects while learning all sorts of handy bike mechanic skillz! They used to do a trans* and women’s night on thursdays, and there are some people there that might want to start that up again… Check out their calendar here!
The Growing Project (TGP) – A Non-Profit that grows a lot of food throughout town, mostly grown to donate, and hosts classes on gardening and homesteading! Many of their classes do cost money, but full of useful information. They run many great programs that focus on food waste diversion, local/organic eating and growing, permaculture, and youth education. Here is a list of upcoming workshops and classes.
Fort Collins Community Action Network (FCCAN) – A grassroots organization for justice, peace and the environment. They have many subgroups focusing on different social justice issues (Fort Collins Sustainability Group (FCSG), Fuerza Latina, Open Communities Collective, Strength Through Peace (STP), and Youth Against Militarism), and have been working in Fort Collins for 15 years. They host and promote related classes on their calendar here.
Wolverine Farm Publishing Co. & Bookstore – A non-profit literary/arts organization based in Fort Collins, Colorado. They publish books, newspapers, and online content, and run a bookstore inside The Bean Cycle Coffee Shop, and host/organize community events. Creator Hub (Maker Space) – The Creator Hub is a new project in town looking for a physical location to host their classes/tools/etc. Connect with them if you are interested in a maker/hacker/tool co-op!
